Charles Soitabao is one of those guys that I have known since I was 5 years. He is the big brother I literally never had. God has a way of bringing such awesome people in ones life and this dude is one of them. We have fought, laughed and basically walked this life together. We went to the same schools (i was never ‘monolised’ thanks to him) and this dude proceeded to flying school. My first flight (hours in the air) was on a plane flown by him and of course it was free.
It was Monday 7th of January, when he was involved in a road accident along Karen-Ngong road. His right arm was badly hurt and due to the extensive damages, the surgery team, led by Doctor Murilla, a qualified and experienced Orthopedic surgeon, were left with no other option but to amputate his right arm, till above the elbow. This was a sad day for me. Soita is one selfless guy and most of the people who have been around him can attest to that fact. He will leave his busy schedule and help you out or ensure that you are smiling if you have a gloomy day. He is God fearing,a fighter and a peoples person. He loves quotes and he always has a Mahatma Gandhi or a Martin Jr King quote to encourage you.
Soita lost his right arm, but not his vision and sense of purpose. He is passionate about life. He has taught me to believe in the impossible and one thing I am sure about this dude is that he is set for greatness. His family and friends have since embarked on a search for a functional prosthetic arm. He has been successful to get a response from Ottobock, a German company that has vast experience in Orthopedics and Prosthetics for close to 100 years.

Eliud, I honestly have NO WORDS!!!!!! I thank God you are in my life! Most people would wish they had a few more friends like you in their life, I am glad you are in my life, am blessed! “Reconsider your definitions. We are prone to judge success by the index of our salaries or the size of our automobiles rather than by the quality of our service and relationship to mankind.” Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

When I was young, I always wanted to be a pilot. Due to financial challenges my dream was shuttered and I’m currently studying engineering but I now realize no mountain, no valley should hinder you from what you wanna be. I met Soita only once in 2011 at NPC church but he has always been reflected in my flying dream. A young well focused and so lively is all I know about him but for real an icon to me.
Soita I know you will fly again coz you made me know I will fly. May God bless you abundantly.

“Thomas Edison dreamed of a lamp that could be operated by electricity, began where he stood to put his dream into action, and despite more than ten thousand failures, he stood by that dream until he made it a physical reality. Practical dreamers do not quit.”
– Napoleon Hil

Charles you shall truly FLY again!!!..i don’t know you personally but your zeal not to give up has inspired me today more than anything else. I have a passion to be a commercial pilot and still saving up for my aviation classes and at times i feel like giving up on that dream but you have really inspired me not to. anything and everything is possible if we set our heart, soul and mind to it. We in the diaspora are praying for you and wishing you all the best in your plans. God bless you

The chief beauty about time
is that you cannot waste it in advance.
The next year, the next day, the next hour
are lying ready for you,
as perfect, as unspoiled,
as if you had never wasted or misapplied a single moment in all your life.
You can turn over a new leaf every hour if you choose. Arnold Bennett British Novelist.
